Ananda Aloe Gel and Rose Distillate Hydrating Mask Review
Today, I am reviewing the aloe gel and rose distillate hydrating face mask from Anandha which I received in one of the envy box subscriptions last year. I am sure many who have subscribed to that particular envy box might have received it and this has been my mostly used mask last year.
₹ 1105 for 100g (The one shown here is the 50g version which is not available online, the 100g full version is available in few online websites including the Ananda in the Himalayas website)
Ingredients & About the product:
Rose Water – 50%, Aloe vera – 25%. Cellulose derived gelling agent – 1%, Aqua-qs
The gel face pack comes in a tub which some might not prefer but I am quite ok with it. The ingredient list sounds neat, nonfussy and good with rosewater combined with aloe vera and as the percentages of them are high it might also be a reason for the high price of this face pack. The face pack is gel based, transparent and smells of roses which is very soothing. The fragrance is a bit heavy but still feels good so even people with sensitive noses might like it and those who like rose fragrance will love it a lot. The gel is quite lightweight, spreads easily in the skin and gives a cooling sensation when applied to the skin. I usually use it once a week and I have combination skin that tends to get drier in colder months and this face pack helps in adding more moisture into my skin and I just love using it both in summers and winters. In summers both in India and in Finland when the sun is pretty harsh, this just cools the skin and gives a good moisturization feel. I can see myself using it all through the year as this does not make the skin oily and hydrates the skin making it supple and fresh. Though I mostly use it once a week, sometimes I use it twice a week, when I feel my skin feels lifeless and dehydrated. I usually leave it for around 30 minutes, sometimes for some more time and then wipe it with cotton or wash it or sometimes I just leave it in my skin overnight too. It washes off easily, does not leave any residue on the face and gives a soft subtle effect to the skin. This is not some magical face pack, but it does add moisture providing enough hydration, soothes and calms the skin and I would like to repurchase it but the cost is a dampening factor and I am currently also looking at other natural gel based face pack to try out. This goes into my favorite list here. I also love using the Aroma Magic Seaweed pack which I reviewed here, that gives almost similar effects and is affordable like this one but the smell and feel of this rose aloe face mask give make it different from the seaweed mask.
Suitable for all skin types
Hydrates the skin well
Gives a cooling soothing effect to the skin
Calms down rashes, dry patches, and sunburns thus will benefit skin all through the year
Can be wiped off or washed off easily without leaving any residue
Ingredient list is impressive as it has around 50% rosewater and 25% aloe vera which is quite high instead of those little percentages which we see in few skincare products (the rest is water and 1% gelling agent)
Only 4 ingredients and thus free from other chemicals or nasty ingredients
Availablity (Available only in few online websites including the Ananda in the Himalayas website)
Price (the 50g came for around 4 months when used once or twice a week, so 100g might come for 8-9 months depending on the usage)
Prettykooll rating: 4.8/5
If you want to try an affordable natural gel based face mask also try the Seaweed pack from Aroma magic which I have reviewed here.
