Empties Post – 5
So, the last month of the year 2016 has started and this year flew faster for me compared to last year. So many sweet memories some not so nice but all in all it was a good year. And usually, December gets so busy preparing for Christmas, trying to finish up all pending work at the job and looking forward to having a nice break for more than a week and relax. Today I will share the products that I have managed to empty during the past few months. This has been a long pending post, which should have been posted at the beginning of last month and at last, I managed to post it today, so let’s see what all the products I managed to finish up recently.
1. Avene Thermal Spring Water
I purchased this 300 mL huge can of thermal spring water as I have never tried thermal spring water before, it has always been on my wish list and there were few offers and I ended up buying this big bottle. I usually use rose water to tone my face and instead of the rose water, I used this thermal spring water from Avene. I quite enjoyed using it but as I do not have any major skin issues or other problems except dry patches as my skin is combination dry, I would say this helped in calming my skin and soothing dry patches whenever I used it, other than that this is not a miracle product, so I am back to using my favorite rose waters as usual as they also calm and soothe my dry skin. But, I am still planning to try the thermal spring water from other brands like Vichy, Eucerin or La-Roche Posay in the future.
I re-purchased this rose water after few years and this once used to be my staple as other rose waters had additives or preservatives in them. This is pure distilled rose water and smells a bit different from the rose waters from Kam aAyurveda, Forest Essentials, Good Earth or Oilcraft but nevertheless, it is a good rose water too. You can read the complete review here.
I purchased this after using a sample tube of it in one of Nature’s Co beauty boxes, I like it as this has a fruity fragrance, removes normal makeup well, non-drying and also cleanses the faces effectively. As I do not use waterproof makeup a lot, this worked well for me as a makeup remover. You can read the complete review here.
This is one of my favorite facial cleansers and this is my 3rd tube. I am addicted to it and you can find it on my favorites list too. I can continuously keep on using this but sadly it is not available in Finland or in India and the online prices are quite high compared to that sold in the US. Next time when my sister comes, I am planning to buy few backups of this cleanser. I like the orange fragrance, the oily consistency and the way it leaves the skin nourished and moist which feels so good on my combination dry skin. This is not for everyone, but for me its one of the must have product. You can read the complete review here.
5. Eucerin DermatoClean Refreshing Cleansing Gel
I mostly use non-SLS or non-foaming face washes and use a gentle cleansing face wash for my combination dry skin. So, I purchased this and it was a mild cleansing gel that removed light makeup and impurities and left the skin soft without drying it. I will soon post a complete review on it.
This was a part of the products that my sister got my USA during her last visit to India and it has a strong smell like many bath and body works products. Not my favorite, but still I managed to empty it. You can read the complete review here.
7. The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter
I used this hair butter along with the TBS rainforest moisture shampoo and the combination made my hair soft, reduced frizz to a larger extent and I love the fact that it is free of silicones. I am in a dual mind whether to repurchase it or not as now I am also looking for other non-silicone based conditioners or hair butter. I will try to post a complete review soon.
8. Aesop Classic Conditioner
This is also one of the conditioner samples along with the shampoo from the same line that I received in my envy box subscriptions last year and I did not know about the brand so I thought it was some random brand. But like the shampoo the first time I used it the fragrance was so soothing and I can feel that it was enriched with essentials oils and felt like a luxury product. When I checked the brand online I found that it is an Australian based brand and was amazed that they have many products that cater to various needs but are quite expensive. I liked the conditioner too but it was quite gentle and did nothing much even though I used it along with my TBS rainforest shampoo or the Aesop classic shampoo. The cost of the products from this brand and the availability is limited but I would like to try few of their products sometimes.
9. H2O+ Cleansing Water
I received this sample in one of the subscription boxes and liked the mild scent, watery texture and I used it as a cleanser after removing my makeup and it did cleanse the residues well and did not dry up my skin.
10. Natural Bath & Body French Red Clay Mask
I received this one also in one of the subscription boxes and liked it a lot, it is a nice clay mask that does not dry the skin and lends it a soft glow that lasts for a couple of days. I liked the smell too and after trying this product, I am planning to also try some other products from this brand in the future.
11. The Body Shop White Musk Eau De Parfum
I purchased this along with the other TBS products last year from the USA and got it shipped to my sister, perfumes take a long time for me to empty and so I bought the travel sized one to try out and quite liked it. It has an intense musk-like smell, I am so bad at describing perfumes but do not smell very strong and lasted on me for almost a day when the weather is colder and few hours during warm weather.
I purchased this product last year from India and this did not suit my combination dry skin very well. The texture is watery but has a powdery feel to it and it clung to the dry patches if any and even on moisturized skin it aggravated dryness. I think this will best suit oily or combination oily skin well. You can read the complete review here.
This is another repurchase after few years and I like it a lot, it is also one of my favorites compact that mattifies the skin for few hours at the same time does not exaggerate dry patches. The price is high but the quantity is huge as it also comes with a refill. I will buy it again the future when I get bored of other compacts. You can read the complete review here.
This is a butter soap from FE that is quite gentle on the skin but the fragrance feels a bit intense and artificial but still I liked it, I love natural hand made soaps and so keep on trying different soaps from different brands. You can read the complete review here.
So, those are the empties, have you used any of the products mentioned above? What are your thoughts?
