Ok with that message, let’s move on to today’s review of the sunscreen that I have been using for the past couple of months from Fabindia which is the Vitamin E sunscreen – spf45, I already reviewed cleansing milk from the same brand which you can read here.
Price: ₹ 325 for 120 mL
About the Product & Ingredients:
I was using my all time favorite Lotus herbals 3 in 1 matte sunscreen for a long time and it was perfect for my oily combination skin type for the summers in India, though I use it most of the year round except during the colder months when my skin become more combination dry. But, in Turku, the sun is strong starting from the spring but the weather is lightly cold and hence I need a more hydrating sunscreen. I have tried a few before and this year I used the one from Fabindia which is the Vitamin E sunscreen – spf45. The product comes in a white plastic tube packaging which is sturdy but the problem is that the product starts accumulating on the top after few weeks and makes it messy, so you have to clean it up now and then. I have faced the same problem with few other brands too. The sunscreen has a slight chemical smell, I am not a fan of the fragrance, but it fades away few minutes post application. The cream is thick but spreads well and gets absorbed within few seconds. If you apply more than required, it will take some time to get absorbed but once absorbed, it does not leave any white cast on the skin. The sunscreen will provide enough moisturization for my skin type and hence will be suitable for oily & combination oily skin people during lightly cold months, but will be rich during summer or hot humid seasons. It has spf45 which is really good to use it during peak summers or under intense sunlight. But, it is not water or sweat resistant hence you might need to reapply if you sweat a lot and it cannot be used when you go for swimming or other water activities. If you need a good hydrating sunscreen you can give this a try but the availability is a major issue as it is hard to get hold of it both in stores and online.
Lightweight, non-sticky sunscreen that spread and absorbs well
Does not feel greasy
Does not produce any white cast like some sunscreens
Will be moisturizing for different types of skin depending on the season
Has a chemical scent, but that fades few minutes post application
The products start getting accumulated near the opening after few days of usage
Not water or sweat resistant (it does not claim so)
Availability is a problem both online and in stores
Prettykooll rating: 3.5/5
