The Just Herbs sun protection gel comes in a transparent pump packaging which also makes it travel-friendly. The pump dispenses enough product needed for the application and works well, but I have read reviews that the pump becomes faulty after few weeks, but for me, it worked well throughout I almost finished the product. The gel is more like a creamy kind of gel, has a nice bubblegum fragrance which I love. The gel spreads well on the skin, gives a light cooling effect, gets absorbed quickly and leave a nourished/hydrated feeling to the skin if the skin is on the normal to oily side. I think the aloevera leaf juice and oils like jojoba, grapeseed, wheatgerm present in the gel are enough to hydrate the skin at the same time it does not feel sticky at all which is really a good advantage, especially during summers. It also does not leave any white cast and I sometimes apply more than required but still it manages to absorbed well leaving a supple face. This is not a mattifying sunscreen at least for me but still does not make the skin greasy or oily. In summers, even when my skin feels dry sometimes, I apply this and top it with a hydrating sunscreen and I am all set to go. One main disadvantage is that the SPF factor is not mentioned as it is more of a natural product based sunscreen, with mainly zinc oxide as the physical sun blocking agent, so, you can use this when you stay indoors or running quick errands on not so sunny days or during winters when the sun is not very harsh and your skin is on the normal or oily side. There is another variant for dry skin people which is a sun protection lotion which I have tried it yet. Another disadvantage is that when I apply some tinted creams like BB/CC cream or foundation which is more mattifying or on the drier side the gel tends to get rubbed off as white precipitate and does not allow smooth application of the cream/foundation too, this I have experienced only with couple of products, not with all, so I think it is more of a compatibility issue between the sunscreen gel and the product that you apply on top and I hope Just Herbs people work on this issue and make it better. Otherwise, overall I liked this sun protection gel so much for its scent, little hydrating effect, light cooling sensation and nourished feeling it gives to my skin in summers.
Nice packaging with pump (they have now revamped the packing, the one showed here is the old packing)
Available online (mostly in the Just Herbs website)
Lightweight, non-sticky sunscreen that spread and absorbs well
Does not feel greasy
Has a nice bubblegum fragrance
Does not produce any white cast like some sunscreens
Will be hydrating enough for normal to oily skin in summers
Keeps face oil-free for few hours depending on the weather
Do not have high SPF or high sun protection, so cannot be used alone if staying outdoors for a long time
Gets rubbed off as white precipitate sometimes when some cream or foundation is applied on top (not always, happens only with few products)
Not water or sweat resistant (it does not claim so)
Availability only online which is currently limited, could not find them in stores
Prettykooll rating: 4/5
I have mentioned in the post that the pump worked for me till I almost finished the product, so why I did not completely finish the product. There is a sad reason for it, I was using it continuously for around 2-3 months and when there was around 20% product left, I lost the small cap and the sunscreen was just lying on my table as I started using another face cream due to change in weather. Then after few weeks, I noticed that the top layer started turning brown in color, so I know the product was either getting bad or this phenomenon happens when you leave it opened for a long duration like me as this is more on the naturals side with less harmful preservatives. I had to throw it away, so if you ar using more natural based products with less harmful preservatives, make sure to finish it once you open the packing and not leave it around like me. A small message so that it might be helpful for few of you.
