L’Oreal Paris HydraFresh Hydration + Antiox Active Spa Water Review

30

Hi dear readers,

If you remember my early post of the L’Oreal hydrafresh here, you might know that I have been using all of them together during the summer in Finland.  I started using them from August after my trip to India when my skin was in a dehydrated condition due to frequent travelling and ignorance of taking care of my skin properly which I really regretted as my skin had developed dry patches in my face and felt very dehydrated.  I started using these when my skin needed more hydration but nothing heavy and this fitted perfectly as these were very light weight products, let’s see how they fared on me.  I will review all the three products from this range one by one and today’s review is on the L’Oreal Paris HydraFresh Hydration + Antiox Active Spa Water.  Both the spa water and the day time emulsion is not available in India and also in many countries including Finland but the night mask in jelly is available in India.

The product comes in a tall plastic transparent bottle with an opening that dispenses the right amount of product and the bottle is also quite sturdy and travel-friendly.  The spa water has a colorless light watery gel texture which becomes water like the moment you start applying it.  It has a mild pleasant fragrance which fades away as soon as you apply it on the skin.  The spa water can actually be used in place of toner but due to its gel water texture it is not runny as toners. The water in the product itself mainly come from the French Vosges Mountain and is packed with 16 minerals to help make your skin soft and balance it too. I dispense some spa water in my palms after cleansing and apply to my face, it just feels like water when applied but gets absorbed immediately.  If I use more than required also, it just gets absorbed within a minute. Very little amount is required and it will easily lastst for 5-6 months even if used twice daily.  I have used it continuously for 2 months twice daily and I have almost more than half of the product left which will be enough for me for another 3 months.  This one surely is a very hydrating toner and leaves the skin supple and hydrated.  If you have very oily skin, this will double up as a toner and as a light serum/moisturizer by itself during hot humid months.  As I have combination-oily skin, I apply moisturizer after this and I have used few moisturizers and night creams and the spa water helps in absorbing the product well into the skin.  .  So, I just love the product and the ingredient list looks interesting with French Vosges spa water which are rich in minerals and it also contain grape polyphenosl & lupin protein. I like using this product so much, and almost ready to use it as a toner but the non-availabiltiy is a probelm and also it does not provide any skin improvement benefits as per my experience.  Hence, I will continue using my floral mists once this gets finished as they are more natural and if I maintain my skin properly I can prevent my skin getting dry patches and becoming dehydrated.

Pros:

Practical travel-friendly packaging

Smells mildly

Lightweight gel water like texture that gets absorbed instantly and even if applied in excess too it gets absorbed within few seconds

Can be used in the place of toner

Makes the skin supple & smooth

Hydrates the skin decently

Little amount is needed so it will last for 5-6 months if used twice daily

Can be used on all skin types

French Vosges spa water with enriched minerals and grape polyphenols along with glycerin, castor oil are added natural goodness

Cons:

Availability as they can be brought either in international websites as it is not widely available everywhere.

Costly but it will last for 5-6 months

No other improvement in skin can be seen other than hydration (Not a con as such as this whole range has claims mainly for hydration)

Contains paraben

This does not contain high alcohol content like the day emulsion or the night mask in jelly, I use it for my dry skin and it leaves it quite hydrated

I think we have something similar in India. The review is pretty Honest, I am currently using the Sebamed Toner. And it dries out my skin. I’ll check the similar indian version at the counters first. 🙂

Sure, check it out and make sure alcohol is not listed as one of the main top ingredient like in the emulsion of this range otherwise it may dry out the skin

Gel textured products are always the best and I wouldn’t even mind spending on this product as it anyways lasts a good 5-6 months which is very impressive!
