Review on Good Earth Amritam Ruh Gulab Damask Rose Water

8

Hi everyone,

This is my third review on Rose Water and this time it is from the Good Earth Amritam range.  As you can see, I am so much addicted to using rose waters and keep on exploring them from various brands.  I have already used rose waters from different brands and will do a comparative post in the future and I am still keeping my eyes open to pure rose waters.

Price: ₹ 400 for 120 mL, ₹ 1000 for 500 mL.

You can buy it in the Good Earth stores or online through their website.

About the Product: Distilled from the petals of the damask rose, this pure rosewater has cooling and healing properties.  Contains hydrosol of Rose Damascena, naturally occurring Rose Oil.

As I  have told in my earlier rose water posts, I love using rose water as a toner, to mix with face packs, as a finishing makeup mist, as a face refresher on hot or cold days and thus, have tried rose water from a variety of brands.  This one from Good Earth comes in a transparent plastic bottle and this is a refill pack. I have used their 120 mL pack which comes with a pump and the pump sprays a fine mist.  I usually get the refill pack and transfer it to a spray bottle for easy use.  The rose water is colorless, does not have any artificial fragrance and smell soothingly of real roses which is not overwhelming and will very well suit people with sensitive noses or people who do not like rose scents. I mostly just spray the rose water to my face after washing my face with face wash leaving it to air-dry.  My face feels lightly hydrated, soft, skin feels soothed and this rose water will suit people with all skin types.  The 120mL pack of Good Earth rose water is not economical but the 500mL refill pack is cost effective.  I love both Forest Essentials & Kama Ayurveda Rose water but did not find any difference between them and Good Earth rose water, and this also comes in a  distilled and pure form with no preservatives.  The high price tag of the above two becomes a limitation for me to indulge in them often and I mostly buy the refill pack of Good Earth rose water and this is a re-purchase material for me which also goes into my favorites list here.

Pros:

Sturdy transparent packaging

Smells mildly and lovely of real roses

Leaves the skin lightly hydrated

Soothes the skin

Pure 100% rose water with no added, colors, chemicals or fragrances

Can be used on all skin types

Refill pack is cost effective compared to its counterparts

Cons:

Some might find it costly compared with other brands

Availability as they can be brought in Good Earth stores which are found in only few cities, though they do have online shopping

Prettykooll rating: 4.5/5

Do you use rose water on a daily basis like me? Which brand rose water do you like?

You can also try fabindia rose water, I do not have it now with me to review. It is also pretty good 🙂 but they sell only 100mL bottles.

You just reminded me that my stock of rose water is over and I need to stock up again. Most of the times I prefer making it at home if I could find time. Loved your review.

Thanks, I love home made things and I used to make rose waters few years ago when I was in India with those wild rose variety as they are the best for rose waters.
