The Body Shop Vitamin E lip Care SPF 15 Review
Today I am reviewing a lip balm from The Body Shop, called Vitamin E lip Care SPF 15.

Active Ingredients: Octinoxate (7.5% W/W), Oxybenzone (5% W/W) Inactive Ingredients: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Coconut Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Beeswax, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Vanilla Planifolia Extract, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate, Tocopherol, Calendula Officinalis Flowers, Echinacea Purpurea Herb, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil.
The Body Shop (TBS) lip balms comes in many variants and I picked up the Vitamin E one which is also one of their best sellers. It comes in a pink color retractable tube form which is sturdy and travel friendly. It does not smell good, but the smell is mild and does not bother me. The lip balm does not have any tint/color, applies smoothly and moisturizes the lips, but it is not one of the intense moisturizing lip balm. I have dry lips and the moisturization effect is enough for me during summers but for winters my lips stay moisturized for 3-4 hand I need to re-apply. Once the lip balm wears out the lips does not feel hydrated any more so re-application is essential. It heals lightly chapped lips, but if your lips are very dry, prone to cracks then this might not heal them very well. The lip balm also comes with SPF15 thus offering some sun protection which is an added advantage. The lip balm is good to use under lipsticks as it is not waxy or slippery, but the lips will not feel moisturized all day long and you have to reapply it if you are especially wearing matte or semi matte lipsticks. I was really expecting this to be very moisturizing, but it failed to do so and I does not feel anything else special about it. I feel the Lotus Herbals lip balm or Nivea/Maybelline lip balms works much better in half the price and this does not comes any way near to them in terms of moisturization or in making lips supple with continuous use. This might be enough if you have normal lips but for dry lips or during sever winter it doesn’t do much. I prefer Lotus Herbals lip balm for the day and Biotique overnight lip therapy for night.
Convenient and sturdy packaging
Moisturizes the lips decently
Heals lightly chapped lips
Feels light on lips
Good to apply under lipsticks due to its non-waxy and non-slippery nature
Availability is a problem as The Body Shops are available in big cities though their products are available through online websites
Not intensely moisturizing and moisturization effect will not be enough for very dry lips and during winters
Re-application often is required
Has a smell which is not pleasant though it is mild
Will not heal severely cracked or chapped lips
Prettykooll rating: 3.5/5
